So many times in life, we miss out on something great, trying to hold on to something good, or familiar.
Just because something, someone, or an idea is “good”, does not mean it is from God.
If you are holding on to something or someone, and you know you need to let go, I urge you to do so.
You cannot receive something new, with your hands clenched around something old.
Simply, LET IT GO!
You never know what blessing is on the other side of you letting go.
- Maybe it is the promotion you’ve prayed for.
- Maybe it is reconciliation in a broken relationship.
- Maybe it is peace, joy, stability, a new mindset or renewed hope.
I do not know what it is for you, and you will never know either as long as you hold on to the thing, person, place or idea you know God has called you to part from.
“If you are brave enough to say goodbye, life will reward you with a new hello.” (Paulo Coelho) I am a living witness that this statement is true.
Sometimes letting go is hard because we are afraid of the outcome. The only thing I can encourage you to do is:
“Trust God from the bottom of your heart; don’t try to figure out everything on your own. Listen for God’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; he’s the one who will keep you on track.” Proverbs 3:5-6 Message Bible
Have a blessed day!

This is beautiful and inspiring! Found you on the bloggers:learn, grow, encourage fb page and love this! I wrote a prayer book on letting go called 31 Days of Letting Go and we also have a fb page where we post the prayers! There is such incredible freedom in letting go of whatever we’re clinging to and just trusting God Many Blessings! ❤

Thank you for posting this. We often think we are letting things go when really we are still holding on tighter than ever. You are so right though. We don’t know what we are missing if we are clenched with our hands tightly. There are times that God does want us to dig our heels in and hold on through a storm. It is then that we hold on tight. We just have to remember that in thise times we hold on tightly to God. He will carry us through the storm.
God Bless

Hi Tammy! I’ve been on both sides. I remember a very painful time when I wanted to let go and God said hold on. It was tough, but I held on to Him and made it through. I also remember a time I wanted so badly to hold on to a person and God said let him go. With His help, I did and in the end I was blessed for it. No matter what, it all works together for our good. Blessings to you!!!!

Letting go can be one of the hardest things, but in the end for me anyway has always lead to something far better! This has been a good reminder for me to look at my life and make sure there is nothing that I am holding on to.

Ok, I have daughters and couldn’t resist singing “Let It Go” from Frozen when I read your title! 🙂 Seriously though, I can definitely relate to letting things go to allow for better things to enter your life (or a new hello). The first step is usually the hardest…
