“Just when the caterpillar thought the world was over, it became a butterfly.”
The caterpillar has to go through metamorphosis to become a butterfly. At times, the process is difficult and painful, but the outcome is beautiful.
It is through trials, tests, and tribulations that we grow. Anyone can give up. However, it takes faith, courage, and endurance to keep pressing, standing, fighting, and believing when you don’t understand.
Your breakthrough may be on the other side of your next yes, next no, next act of obedience, next leap of faith, etc. You cannot skip the process, but still want the promise.
“When life is sweet, say thank you and celebrate. When life is bitter, say thank you and grow!”
Years ago, I learned of an entrepreneur who was down because business was slow. He felt defeated and unable to support his family.
One night, someone stole some of his property. This pushed him over the edge, and later that night he ended his life.
The next day, his phone began to ring. Old and new customers called in need of his services. He gave up days before his breakthrough.
I share this because somewhere in the world, someone wants to give up on his or her life, marriage, children, business, dream, etc.
If God has not told you to quit, keep standing and trust his plan, even though you do not understand the process.
“So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.”
Don’t give up and let someone else reap the benefits of your hard work!
“Be cheerful no matter what; pray all the time; thank God no matter what happens.”
(1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 Message)
Have a blessed day!

Great post. It can be so easy to get discouraged and feel like giving up when things are tough, but you never know what the next moment will hold. After the rainstorms, beautiful flowers grow and rainbows appear. You just have to wait it out. Fire forges the toughest steel. Thanks for sharing it!

YOu just never know God’s plan for you. And I love how you say, “If God has not told you to quit, keep standing and trust his plan, even though you do not understand the process.” SO powerful!!

This is such a wonderful message! It’s so easy to get “discouraged” and it’s important to hang in there – but it’s not always easy! This is an encouraging word!

Hi Clare! Thank you for stopping by. You are absolutely right, it is hard sometimes to hang in there. However, if we can just hold on, the outcome is sometimes worth the wait. Have a blessed day!

This is a great message that we all need to share repeatedly when we encounter someone in the trenches. I, too, have read the stories of those who have ended their life. Discouragement is such poison for human beings. We must remind each other of the Light and extend our hands in support.
I loved, “When life is bitter, say thank you and grow.” Though I have not had the heartbreaking experiences others have known, after a serious accident I went through some emotional and mental turmoil. God taught me so much during that time. I truly did grow. All things work for good for those who love the Lord.
